 Message from Principal Duncan~

We are in the final week before heading into the Holiday break!  Our students and staff have been busy with tons of holiday cheer and many events on campus over these past few weeks.  The amazing Woodcreek High School made a visit to our campus this past Friday, putting on a wonderful performance and giving every student on campus gifts.  Seeing the smiling faces of every student brought so much happiness to our campus.  In addition to receiving, our students have also been donating to the Chips For Kids event and we have been overflowing with donations, which is wonderful to see!  Thank you all for giving to our community during this time of the year!

 Message from Principal Duncan~

Welcome to October Kaseberg Families.  October is always filled with many school events and classroom activities for the fall.  This month our students are focusing on the character trait of Empathy.  This is being taught throughout all of our classrooms and is the focus of our PBIS monthly awards assembly.  Congratulations to last month's Character Award recipients for the character trait of showing respect.

Our school and staff were recognized at the district Board Meeting last Thursday for our hard work and dedication to becoming a CA PBIS Platinum distinguished school.  Only 200 schools in the state of California earned this recognition. And we are 1 of 2 schools in our district to earn this recognition.  Amazing work Kaseberg team and families.

Lastly, our beautiful new digital marquee has been shipped and we are hoping to have it installed by the end of the month.  We will be sending out information on how to recognize your child for their birthday with the new marquee in the coming weeks.  Have a wonderful rest of October and we can't wait to see you all at our yearly Harvest Festival on October 29th!  Message from Principal Duncan~

What a wonderful first six weeks of school with our students.  Starting the school year later in August has made these first few months fly by and we are now into fall and almost into October.  Our students are now in their routines for the school day and well into their new learnings.  All of our classrooms have started their reading/math small groups to ensure students are getting the additional support that they need in core content areas and extending learning for those that are ready.

We would like to give a HUGE shout-out and THANK YOU to the Pembroke Family for building and creating our new, amazing Lending Library at the front of our school.  Our students were so excited to see it and we are excited to offer FREE books to our students to borrow.  As a Lending Library site, we encourage students to take books home to read and then return them when they are done enjoying them.  It is imperative that our students are reading 20 minutes a night and we want to ensure all students have access to books that they enjoy!

 Message from Principal Duncan~

Welcome back from a nice Labor Day Weekend!  I hope you all were able to stay out of the heat and enjoy some cooler air.  These past two weeks our students have been practicing our PBIS Behavior Expectations, completing their district assessments, and having some fun with new learning that is taking place.  We are ecstatic to announce that our school has been recognized as a PBIS Platinum School and we are one of only two schools to have received this high honor.  To receive this award from the state PBIS Coalition our staff had to show evidence of providing behavior interventions across our campus for all students, while also offering Tiered support for students who needed additional Social and Emotional Support.  Last year we were able to support 62 students with Tier 2 Behavior supports, such as counseling, friendship groups, and different social skills groups.  We are so proud of the resources we are able to provide our students and we Thank You for being a part of our student's success.  Our school will be recognized on October 6th at our District Board Meeting! Go Hawks!

 Message from Principal Duncan:

Welcome back to the 2022-2023 school year at Kaseberg Elementary!  I have butterflies in my stomach in anticipation of our student's return and getting this school year started.  I truly hope that your summer was filled with family time, vacations, memory-making, and some relaxation as well.  Our staff and I have been working hard these past few weeks to ensure our classrooms are ready for our student's return and to ensure we have the best kick-off yet for the school year.

This summer we have been completing many projects around campus.  These projects included refurbishing our new MPR floors, going into contract for our brand new digital Marquee (which will be installed by December) and best of all...there will be a 6-foot fence installed around our playground this fall to ensure our students remain safe and secure during the school day!  These are all going to be great new additions for the upcoming school year.
