Full-Day Kindergarten in 2022-2023~

Kaseberg Elementary will be starting a full-day kindergarten program during the 2022-2023 school year.  This means that Kindergarten students will attend school during the same hours as our 1st-5th graders.  We will no longer have early/late Kindergarten start times.  We will be the ONLY campus in RCSD offering this full-day Kindergarten Program at this time.  Our hope is that this offers more stability for families who have multiple students here at Kaseberg and an extended day for our Kindergarten students to have greater learning opportunities and play-based experiences.

NO EARLY DROP OFF's~

We are seeing many students getting dropped off at our front gate significantly early.  As a reminder, students are not allowed to be on campus until 8:30 am.  Students can be dropped off at 8:15 am for breakfast, but doors do not open until 8:15 am and we do not have supervision before then.  Please DO NOT drop your child off before 8:15 am.  Thank you!

COVID Protocol Updates~

The safety of our Kaseberg families, staff, and students are the first priority here at Kaseberg Elementary.  Our goal is to ensure our community remains safe and that students are attending school and have little learning loss during these times.  As of this past Friday, there have been updates to our COVID Protocol so please read thoroughly the updates LINKED HERE since the changes will greatly affect student attendance.

Commonly Asked Questions FAQ:
  1. If my child is exposed at school to a Positive COVID case can I keep them home and their sibling in another class to be safe?
    1. The student directly exposed can choose to quarantine and it will be excused, but the sibling not directly exposed MUST remain in school and the absences will be unexcused if chosen to keep home.
  2. If my child is exposed to a Positive COVID case at home and the positive COVID case cannot isolate, how long is my child out of school for (unvaccinated student)?
    1. If your child cannot isolate from the positive individual, they will need to quarantine until the positive case’s isolation period is over. If your child remains free of symptoms at the conclusion of the positive individual’s isolation period they may return to in-person learning.
  3. If my child is going to be absent for ANY reason (COVID-related or not) what should I do?
    1. Please call our front office if your child is going to be absent at all. Our secretaries have been having a huge increase in the number of absences daily and they are required to call every single family to find out their reason for their absence. Most days are between 40-80 families needing to be called to investigate their absence.
If your child is feeling well and has no symptoms we HIGHLY ENCOURAGE them to be in school since we are no longer excusing and using a Modified quarantine.

2022-2023 Student Registration~

We are currently accepting priority 2022-2023 student registration.  Please make sure you register your child no later than January 28th, 2022 to ensure your child has a spot here at Kaseberg Elementary.  It is imperative to register during this priority window to ensure we can staff appropriately for the next school year.

Message from Principal Duncan~

My oh my where in the world did 2021 go?  This school year has flown by and I can't believe we are already entering the second half of the school year and starting 2022!  My hope is that each and every one of you had a chance to relax, hang out with family and friends, and create some lasting memories with our Kaseberg Hawks.  I personally chose to disconnect from technology for a bit and focus on being present with my children and family since my own goal for this upcoming year is to find a little work/life balance...something that I am not great at!  As we enter 2022 I am eager and excited for what's to come for our students during this next portion of the school year.  We have 94 days left of school to foster positive relationships with each of our students, to be laser-focused on learning outcomes in our classrooms, and have some fun together while we are at it!

Thank you to all of our Kaseberg families for your support this school year and for giving grace and understanding during times of uncertainty in education!  Our staff and I appreciate your constant positivity and willingness to support our staff and students wherever needed!
