 Message from Principal Duncan~

It’s hard to believe how quickly the year is moving — we are already at the end of Trimester 2! With only 11 Mondays left in the school year, we are excited to head into Trimester 3 with focus and enthusiasm.

Our staff remains deeply committed to maintaining high academic expectations and finishing the year strong. We are proud of the growth our students have made and look forward to building on that momentum in the months ahead.

Spring at Kaseberg is always a busy and exciting time! We are looking forward to special events including Read Across America Week, our Sports-a-thon Fundraiser, upcoming Book Fairs, and our Lunch with Loved Ones event.

We are excited for a strong, productive, and fun third trimester at Kaseberg Elementary!

Important Information~

Family Literacy Night (Wed, March 4th)~

This is always one of our students’ favorite events of the year — especially because our teachers lead all of the fun! Join us for an evening filled with engaging literacy games, our Book Fair, and a visit from Snowie King. It’s sure to be a fun and memorable night for everyone!

Read Across America Week~

Read Across America Week is always an exciting, joy-filled celebration of reading across our entire campus! Throughout the week, students will participate in engaging classroom activities designed to spark and share a love of books.

We will also celebrate with daily Spirit Dress-Up Days to make the week even more fun. We can’t wait to see our Hawks showing their love of reading all week long!

Kaseberg Book Fair Volunteers Needed~

Our amazing librarian will be hosting our Spring Book Fair from March 2nd–March 6th! This special event not only gives our students access to exciting new books, but also helps us raise funds to purchase additional titles for our school library.

To make this event a success, we need your help! If you are available to volunteer and assist during the Book Fair, please consider signing up using the link below. We are so grateful for your support in making this opportunity possible for our students.

Kaseberg Community Survey LAST CALL~

This is the final call to complete our Kaseberg Community Survey! We have received about 120 responses so far and are hoping to reach at least 150.

If you have not yet completed the survey, please take a few minutes to do so by Monday, February 23rd at 5:00 p.m.

Your feedback is incredibly important to us. Hearing from as many families as possible ensures we have meaningful and accurate input as we plan for the upcoming school year. Thank you for partnering with us and sharing your voice!

PBIS Character Trait of CARING~

This month, our classes are focusing on the character trait of Caring. Each class will explore what it looks like and sounds like to be caring at school—through kindness, empathy, and respectful actions. Students may earn Caught Cha tickets anytime they demonstrate this trait around campus.

Here are some simple, meaningful ways parents can model and encourage the trait of caring at home:

  • Model kindness and empathy by using respectful language, listening, and showing compassion during everyday moments.

  • Acknowledge feelings by helping children name and talk about their emotions—and validating how they feel.

  • Practice helping behaviors like sharing responsibilities, helping siblings, or doing kind acts for neighbors and family members.

  • Use positive words and actions such as saying “thank you,” offering encouragement, and showing appreciation often.

  • Talk about caring choices by discussing how actions affect others and celebrating moments when your child shows kindness.

  • Encourage service by finding small ways to give back together, like helping a friend, caring for a pet, or donating to those in need.

When children see caring modeled at home, they’re more likely to carry it with them to school and beyond

Way to Rock Attendance HAWKS~

Congratulations to our January Attendance Raffle winners! 🎉

These students showed outstanding commitment by not missing a single day of school and were rewarded with a $25 Target gift card. Way to go!

As a school community, our goal is to reduce the number of students who are chronically absent—defined as missing 18 or more school days in a year. Thanks to the collective efforts of our students, families, and staff, we are making incredible progress and are well on our way to finishing the year strong with fantastic attendance.

Research consistently shows that strong attendance matters. Students who attend school regularly are more likely to read on grade level by third grade, perform better academically in later years, and feel more connected to their school community.

Thank you to our families for prioritizing daily attendance and helping our students show up ready to learn. Together, we are building habits that set our children up for long-term success!

2025-2026 Yearbook Purchase and Cover Contest~

It’s that exciting time of year—yearbook orders are now open! This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase a keepsake your child will treasure for years to come.

We are also inviting our talented students to design this year’s yearbook cover. We can’t wait to see their creativity shine and discover what our yearbook cover will look like this year
